PCC Certificate Apostille and Embassy Attestation

    
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is a proof and evidence of no Criminal Record of a PCC Holder. PCC could be issued from Police Station or from Regional Passport Office (RPO). The Attested or Apostilled PCC Certificate is mandatory for some Country. PCC could be obtained through online application.

When an Indian person is preparing to go a Hague Conventional Country (HCC), then their PCC Certificate will be Apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Govt. of India. Prior MEA Apostille the PCC Certificate (if it is issued from Local Police Station) must be Attested from Notary Public as well as a competent Signatory of MEA, Govt. of India. For PCC Certificate Apostille the State Level Attestation will be done from Regional Attestation Center (RAC), General Administrative Department (GAD), Home Department, Secretariat, Commissioner, High Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate SDM) etc. If the PCC has been issued from Regional Passport Office (RPO) then it will be Apostilled directly from MEA.

If the person is going to a Non Hague Conventional Country then the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) will be Attested and Legalized from the Embassy or Consulate of the destination Country present in India. Prior Embassy Attestation of PCC Certificate (if it is issued from Local Police Station) will be Attested from Notary Public, Attestation from State Level as mentioned above and the Attestation from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Govt. of India. If the PCC has been issued from Regional Passport Office (RPO) then it will be Attested directly from MEA.
